Computing Initiative

The Magnolia Mobile News team has been working on an initiative to increase computer skills within the park. We would like to help existing computer users become more comfortable and efficient with both hardware and software. We would also like to help more residents get started with computers. Finally, we would like to use computer networking to make information more widely available to our residents and to build a greater sense of community within the park.

  1. I have been using a Raspberry Pi computer for a few weeks. I love how it can be connected to my big screen television, and I can surf the web from the comfort of my couch! I can play games, write letters, watch movies and even send documents to my printer. The Pi computer is the size of a deck of cards, so I can leave it connected to the television when I am not using it. I have a regular computer I use for my emails and business matters, but this is something I can play with and not worry about messing up my other computer. I can see where it would be a good item to entertain your grandchildren while visiting, and they can play and entertain themselves. Great second computer that is more than affordable.
