  1. Hi folks sorry I missed the last meeting about the zooms. I’ve just been sick and unable to leave the house. Hopefully everything will go on as usual and I’ll be able to catch the next one. Hope y’all learned a bit.

    • Hello Carole!!

It would be great to see you there!!

Bringing your own computer is generally optional … depending on what we’re doing. Most of our club meetings start with some kind of organized presentation or activity (like this week’s web page workshop). Then we usually have time for “neighbors helping neighbors” where folks ask for help with some kind of problem and different people offer help or suggestions. Sometimes the help session triggers organized presentations in following weeks when something looks like it might be of general interest. So if you’d like help with something on your own computer, it certainly helps to bring it for that part of the meeting.

We also have a number of other computers that we use for the class. For example, yesterday’s web building class used five of our Raspberry Pi computers which were each configured to be a web server and a web client. So each person built their own web pages on their own web server, and then we could all browse each other’s pages. We needed to use those computers for that class because most personal computers are not set up with web servers.

For next week, March 4, 2022, we may set up a single web server so people will upload their pages (which is a more typical scenario). If we do that, then any computer with a web browser should work.

We look forward to seeing you!!
