Magnolia Mobile Computer Club’s First Zoom

Four members of the Magnolia Mobile Computer Club held their first Zoom meeting at the Club House today (September 23, 2021). Today’s Zoom meeting at the Club House was practiced yesterday (September 22, 2021) at several individual residences. These practice sessions helped to establish accounts and introduce members to the Zoom controls

Thanks to everyone who participated in either event!!

  1. I have taken on line classes, but could never understand them. Then I got this little slip about senior computer classes. Our teacher Bob is amazing. He has us go over and over until we get it. I was able to zoom (to my grandson in Wyoming) for the very first time. I could see his sweet face for the first time. Thanks to everyone helping with the computer club!

  2. Hey bob I know I miss a few meetings, sometimes sick and sometimes just busy at that time. I plan to be there this Thursday for zoom practice. Just trying to get used to communication on the web site. Hope to see you then to practice zoom. Please bring the purple thing if you can for me to borrow?

    • Hi Janet,

That sounds great!! Don’t worry about missing meetings. We’re very flexible, and it will be good to see you again. : )

I think the “purple thing” must be a “Raspberry Pi” computer. I’ll be sure to have one ready for you.

We have several articles about the Raspberry Pi computer here on our Magnolia Mobile News web site. You can also read more at the official Raspberry Pi web site:

      https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/

If you look around that web site, you’ll get the feeling that the Raspberry Pi was designed to introduce children to computers – and it’s true. The Raspberry Pi is intended to be a child’s first computer. But … if a Raspberry Pi can be the first computer for a child … why not have it be the first computer for a senior?
