Magnolia Mobile News was created to provide helpful information to our residents. It is different from a traditional resident’s association or homeowner’s association because it doesn’t attempt to be authoritative in any way. It is just a web site to help share news and other helpful information between residents.
Magnolia Mobile News came into existence on September 16th, 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. During the pandemic, traditional means of communication (personal meetings, paper newsletters, etc) became increasingly difficult to use for easy communication. A suggestion was made to create a web site for official association business. However, the approval process for such an “official” web site would have been more restrictive, so the site was launched instead as an independent news organization separate from any official association (or management or ownership). The name “Magnolia Mobile News” was specifically chosen to reflect the site’s independence.
It is hoped that Magnolia Mobile News will become an easy tool for disseminating news and sharing information to benefit residents. It is intended to be a “grass roots” mechanism where all residents can participate and contribute. Every resident is empowered as a “reporter” to share their own experience and knowledge with all other residents.

That site doesn’t look as pretty (yet) but it’s a place where people can start their own discussion topics. It also has a separate section for posts that will only be visible to other residents. We’re still putting it all together, so please forgive us for anything that isn’t working yet.

The goal of this web site is to help bring our fellow residents closer together. We all have so much to share and the park is almost like our own little island. It’s been great meeting so many people through this effort.
